When flipping through the
channels using Save on TV Direct, it’s inevitable to run into an
infomercial. More often than not, the infomercial is for the latest new workout
craze or gym product. The persuading on-camera trainer talks about what the
exercises do, testimonials show before and after photos, and there is a significant
amount of energy within the videos.
There have been some
great workouts that have been made popular as a result of infomercials. Some of
the top ones include Insanity, P90X and Rockin’ Body. Each one of these has
their own set of benefits and come with different methods in order to target
the core, as well as the rest of the body.
A recipe for success can
be found with each of these workout programs:
1. They have high energy
music, often with bright colors
2. They feature
testimonials from happy customers that show results
3. A breakdown of the
workout is showcased, often with real people, showing you that you can do it
The DVDs sold through the
infomercial allow people to do the workouts from home and get great results.
Most of these programs aren’t endorsed by a celebrity, which makes it more
amazing that they have become as successful as they have. It all has to do with
the fact that they used infomercials in order to promote the product.
Shaun T is the trainer
behind Insanity. If you are into fitness, you
have likely heard of him and the program.
Currently, it is one of the most popular workout programs available. He
looks at the science behind the workout to show how each component is important
to the program. It’s designed to include cardio along with strength training to
get the results.
Tony Horton is the
trainer behind P90X and he’s got a lot of entertaining qualities about him,
especially his motivation techniques! People are attracted to his ability to
act as a personal trainer through the screen. Like Shaun T, he focuses on
science as well as what he calls “muscle confusion”.
Rockin’ Body, otherwise
known as Beach Body, is another program by Shaun T. The reason this program has
become so popular is because of the energetic music. There are five workouts
included and there’s plenty of dance music that will motivate people to move,
even if Shaun wasn’t guiding everyone through the program.
Anyone who watches the
infomercials is usually drawn into the program because they see ordinary people
getting extraordinary results. It also doesn’t hurt that the infomercials run
for 5 minutes or longer, providing more information than the average
commercial. People are able to learn why the programs are effective and get the
opportunity to see some of the exercises they would be doing if they bought the
program. If these workouts hadn’t used infomercials, they wouldn’t be as
popular as they are.
